How employees describe working at Malwarebytes
I love how great this program is at detecting threats. Very useful for everyday computing.
My issue is not with the product but the support when the product fails. Since everything is done online and there is no live support option, it doesn't work for anyone who wants to use their computer for business. Time for me to switch.
Completely open and honest communication. While it may not always be the most timely, it is 100% honest which I appreciate more than quick communication that leaves out things.
Hired as fully remote. Great experience thus far.

Since I am on the engineering team, I'd say extremely collaborative!
How much freedom do you have with your roadmap?

Very little. Engineering can execute on only a handful of features and executives are driving the others.
I'm on a small team so a lot of freedom.
What's the work from home policy like at Malwarebytes?
Inconsistent. There are people who have been hired remotely that can work from home 100% of the time. The people who were hired at the offices are required to be in every day. There is a work at home policy, but it mostly states that it is up to your manager's discretion.
What should I wear for an interview at Malwarebytes?
Casual. CEO explicitly said that you don’t have to wear suits. His rationale went something like “if we don’t make our employees wear suits regularly, why have candidates come in more dressed up than us?”
What's the office layout like at Malwarebytes?
Open plan. Star Wars themed meeting rooms. Plenty of space.

Amazing, can work when/however you want as long as you get the work done. Other teams (sales, QA) may not be so flexible.

Yes, two of my 5 person team are remote.
How does Malwarebytes make decisions around promotions?
That would be with the Marketing team and I don't interact with them much.
How's the vacation policy at Malwarebytes?
Amazing - unlimited time off.
do you feel like you can impact the direction of the product?
Sometimes. The management strategy to go all-in on the cloud is going to alienate existing customers. Building things that we know will move the needle for the current addressable market is getting tougher and tougher due to this change.
