Mr. Dean A. Scarborough has been Non-Executive Chairman of Avery Dennison Corporation since December 31, 2017. Mr. Scarborough was Executive Chairman of Avery Dennison Corporation since April 22, 2010 until December 31, 2017 and served as its Chief Executive Officer from May 2, 2005 to May 1, 2016. Mr. Scarborough served as the President of Avery Dennison Corporation from May 1, 2000 to October 31, 2014 and served as its Chief Operating Officer from May 2000 to May 1, 2005. From November 1999 to April 2000, he served Avery Dennison Corporation as Group Vice President of Fasson Roll Worldwide from November 1999 to April 2000. Mr. Scarborough served as Group Vice President of Fasson Roll North America and Europe from August 1997 to October 1999. He served as a General Manager and Vice President of Fasson Roll North America since 1990. In 1995, he worked in Roll Materials Europe operation. Prior to August 1997, he held other Executive positions at Avery Dennison Corporation. He joined Avery Dennison in 1984 and served in increasingly responsible positions in the label and tag converting business. Mr. Scarborough has been a Director of Avery Dennison Corporation since May 2000. He has been an Independent Director of Mattel, Inc. since May 18, 2007. He serves as a Trustee of Hiram College, the Pasadena Art Center of Design and the California Science Center Foundation. He also serves on the board of directors of the Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce. He serves as a member of the Board of Directors for the Los Angeles World Affairs Council. He received Fasson Roll North America's General Manager of the Year Award in 1992. Mr. Scarborough holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in 1977 from Hiram College in Hiram, Ohio and MBA degree in 1979 from the University of Chicago.
