McGraw-Hill management was very out of touch and retaliatory. They wouldn't listen and still don't understand that they are a tech company. They've been able to hit margins by reducing headcount, but their reliance on platitudes and sloppy strategy is slowly being exposed.
What's going wrong and how can it be improved?
Too many pigeon managers -- you set everything up, but they come in, poop on everything, and fly away thinking they actually contributed.
Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?
More transparency. We get our sales goals on a post-it note. It is the same with goal attainment. Sometimes, I wonder if they are running two sets of books.
