How employees describe working at Medallia

Medallia provided me plenty opportunities to grow and learn, and that made a better professional.

Review from HR Dept

I am given an opportunity to succeed. That being said, Medallia is fast paced with frequent changes with the goal posts changing directions regularly. People with the ability to improvise, adapt and overcome are successful here.

Super intelligent, hardworking, and team players.

Review from Sales Dept

Setting a clear product vision

Review from Customer Success Dept

Medallia used to be an amazing company to work for, unfortunately this is no longer the case, bad and toxic management in Europe who are taking poor and unconstructive decisions for people and business

Leadership is terrible. No strategy, no transparency. Amy and Borge are squandering our market leadership

  • They need the capacity for empathy. They have zero consideration for how much everyone below them does and what we have to put up with.

  • The leadership team needs to start believing in its employees more.

It's toxic here. The amout of politics and quality of people management is atrocious. The company does not know what leadership really is.

  • Actually care about your employees. Corporate politics are rampant

  • The company needs to admit that it is "no longer a startup", and stop trying to act like one.

Grossly underpaid. Working two levels above stated level for three years and constantly lowballed on comp.

  • I spend more time working one to two levels above my role and my compensation doesn't reflect this and leadership couldn't care less.

The usual. But still no 401k match (sad). And the life insurance, even though it's 100% subsidized, it's crappy and benefits cap @200K, which is kind of ridiculous.

  • I felt much more challenged in terms of the social/interpersonal/processual/political aspects of the job than technically. In fact, after working there for >1 year I don't have anything useful or interesting to add to my technical skills list in my resume.

Asked to all employees at Medallia

  • So-so. As Medallia grows, it's more and more difficult to keep that startup aura and that definitely affects the younger staff. Also, the more the IPO gets delayed, the more it gets hard for Medallia to attract and/or retain good talent (at least at the HQ area).

  • I liked it. After recent move from Palo Alto to a more corporate-like building in San Mateo, office looks and feels much more professional and less childish and noisy while still being quite modern and open. The Zoom Meeting rooms are awesome!
