Out of 24 Medscape employee reviews, 57% were positive. The remaining 43% were constructive reviews with the goal of helping Medscape improve their work culture.
The leaders are strong and listen well
There is no leadership team. Medscape is management heavy but there is not a single leader from top to bottom, except for my boss. They only care about serving themselves. You never hear anyone mention concerns for the customer. Ever.
Need more work life balance for the team
Taking feedback from production teams. All decisions appear to be custom motivated with no understanding of how they will impact production line.

better pension and sick pay
Need more work life balance or at least additional pay
Production level employees do not receive support to grow their skills or to be promoted within the company. They are also paid at about half the going market salary for the positions.
Employees are just data points to Medscape and Internet Brands. Better compensation would make me feel better about compensation. How hard is that to grasp? Sales compensation is horrible.
All hands on deck mentality with most people. Some could care less. Offshore teams could do better.
The intermediate team members all work together to solve the problems introduced by other team members in the process. This is due to teams being separated by role and not grouped in cross functional teams.
My exact department is fantastic. Best team I’ve ever worked with. But the rest of the company is awful, except for the writers/ editor

Nothing positive. Extremely toxic culture. Never seen any5hing this bad.
They say the empathize, but if they really did, they would roll up their sleeves to help in areas they are overloading staff.
It was very straight forward
It was fairly quick and didn't require 5+ rounds
My interview process was fairly easy and did not require any coding challenges for a development position. However, this process changes every time we hire.
Transparency would be a good start.
The people are what makes it a great place to work
Too exhausted to be happy
No one ever mentions concern for the customer. No investments are made on their behalf. SalesForce is the tail wagging the company dog. 90% of the employees could be dispensed with if they got rid of salesforce. It would be cheaper and more productive to do things manually.
