Nexstar Broadcasting Group Compensation Employee Reviews

What is the best part about your compensation package?

Immediate 401k match which is uncommon

Healthcare that offers vision and dental.

The commission rates are good

the benefits we get are great, particularly healthcare

Review from Operations Dept

The health insurance is the best part of the benefits. I've never had an issue getting in where I need to.

It is not minimum wage

Review from Operations Dept

health care is great. co-pays are super low and almost all medication is covered.

Review from Operations Dept

My paid leave is the perfect amount

Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?

Be honest with us. Not offering pay raises or having people take pay cuts while the CEO gets a multi million dollar raise never sirs well. Saying we cant travel "because corporate says" also is a lie. Yet the GM can hang out at the Super Bowl on the company dime and thats ok.

I have most of the work being thrown on me because it's easier and quicker to give it to the guy who knows what he's doing than give it to someone who doesn't and then wait for them to figure it out, or end up getting thrown to me anyway. I don't get paid to do most of the departments work.

I brought in new clients the first month, with no prior advertising experience. My manager sabatoged my employment.

Pay at market rate Quit cheating sales people

Paid less than nearby McDonald's.

Stock opportunities would be nice. Low commision rates. Lack of time off. No work / life balance.

In our market (below 150) we are paid just barely above the what retail and fast food workers are paid. The schedules and pay make it nearly impossible to become a homeowner and start a family. Not everyone wants to move up in markets and we need legacy talent to stay, but won't because they can't.

A raise. Havent had one since Nexstar bought the company. People who did get a raise received just over a 1% raise.

There is zero incentive to keep working for this company.

Senior employees make the same as incoming entry level employees.

Low pat compared to other media companies. No stock. Low 401k

I know I work harder, am more creative, and bring more to the table than any other employee on the staff.

Lowest paid sales staff in Dallas.

Lowest paid employees in the market.

More freedom to do the jobs we were hired to do. Nexstar has so many rules, we can no longer effectively compete affectively. These rules were implemented when Nexar owned primarily small market TV stations with inexperienced workers.

I would feel better if paid better than other companies' employees with similar positions since Nexstar is so big

I believe my current compensation at News Nation is, I know Nextar pays horrible at the local level.

Review from Operations Dept

They reduce positions work to ensure that they can pay the lowest required but expect you to work more than that. There is no growth.

Review from Operations Dept

No benefits for 3 months as a new hire. No indication of customer or employee satisfaction being valued.

A base salary instead of working off 100% commissions
