I'm pretty sure you're not allowed to bring in any pets, at least for the NYC offices.

Definitely depends on the role and team. I'm able to wfh everyday, fortunately.

Start treating people who actually works not people who only talks
Break apart "Watch" and "Buy". Embed technology with product. Say no to client customization requests; sell products, not services.

What are company outings like at Nielsen?
It greatly depends on your team - Digital team once went on a small boat in downtown Manhattan for couple hours in the summer. The only all-inclusive "outing" is that Nielsen dedicates one day in June to volunteer with their coworkers (employees can choose on an internal site) every year.

What's the internship program like at Nielsen?
The intern and graduate programs at Nielsen are fantastic. Interns are given real projects, frequently regroup with other interns, and are well managed. Graduates rotate throughout the organization to get exposed to many areas and roles.

My current manager works completely remote :)
How does Nielsen make decisions around promotions?
we do regular reviews and during those reviews if you have performed well you are put in line for promotions or raises.
How's the vacation policy at Nielsen?
it's pretty nice. you get unlimited vacation, but if you abuse it there are some consequences.

Depends on the team.
What part of Nielsen's business is growing fastest? What part is having difficulties?
The Buy organization is ineffective; years of monopoly / easy times has led to complacency and incompetence. Majority of Product Leadership is useless. The Connected System is the most important part of the Buy organization. It has been underway for two years; we hear how well everything is progressing but at $50m per year, and with the huge tech leadership turnover, is that believable?
Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation at Nielsen?
Signals from the market place and recruiters. More transparency would help.

More risks and aggressive moves. Invest. Reduce low-cost, low-quality outsourced IT.
