Office Depot Outlook Employee Reviews

What makes you most happy at work?

Helping a customer solve their problem.

Review from Business Development Dept

Talking with my regulars and working with my coworkers and supervisors.

Review from Sales Dept

My coworkers, and some customers. I love interacting with such a wide spectrum of people.

Being able to make a customer happy.

Fast pace and variety of work to be done.

I like to help. It makes me feel good to help others. I want the customers to get a great experience in our store. Friendly greeting when they walk in. a team member offering to help them with their needs and a pleasant greeting with the cashier and a genuine thank you.

My Boss is just so Friendly and my co workers are the best

Review from Sales Dept

Review from Sales Dept

The environment is always positive .

Review from Sales Dept

the enviroment and how it all pans out

Review from Operations Dept

What's going wrong and how can it be improved?

It can be improved by hiring security guards so the employees and customers csn feel safe

company needs a ground up restructure or privatization. the entire system is flawed from the get go. training does nothing to actually prepare individuals for the role they go into

The here are not cared for. If we feel more like people and less like machines it might work

stop caring about what investors want

Understaffed, customers don't get attended on time, some managers just stay in the office instead of responding to calls directed towards them, radio silence at timea across the board.

More services are added and are stressed harder to sell, yet comission is gone. Many indirect answers of tricky advertising, for example we use a card that says "order online in store" instead of "out of stock" to put on an empty shelf spot. This angers customers way more than it keeps them blissful

Stand behind there quality. They are always out of stock

Review from Operations Dept

I'm not sure there is enough imagination in the C-suite, nor even an eye beyond the next quarter's numbers to fuel any growth at all. This company will die. Just a matter of how and when.

We are losing customers to online shopping and corporate is not compensating well at all

Review from Sales Dept

Management, greedy executives, low pay, poor treatment

Leadership is poor at this company. They are too worried about the low cost model and not taking care of their employees.

No growth, low morale, constant layoffs, disrespectful leadership.

We need better store leaders who can enforce the policy

Review from Operations Dept

Need more motivated management and more profesional

Review from Sales Dept

The scope of my job is too great and undefined. I feel unsuccessful and powerless most days.

Review from Operations Dept

Unfortunately the company is rearranging the deck chairs on the titanic. When OfficeMax was bought by OD the ship started sinking. OFFICEMax/Boise culture was fantastic. Depot culture was horrible.

Review from Sales Dept

The only way I can see to improve the work situation is to hire qualified management at both the store level and corporate level. Promote from within, rather than pulling in someone from the outside who has no experience with this type of business.

Review from Sales Dept

Taking too much money from the hardworking employees

Review from Operations Dept

Unfair pay and too many tasks! I'd like to be able to focus on one thing at a time, rather than constantly being pulled in a million directions and then getting yelled at for not accomplishing everything.

Every decision corporate makes is awful. For one, stop listing non-sellable floor models on the websitr just to get customers in the door
