Coordinating how a job should be done. Lots of mixed messages from each manager which leaves employees confused and discouraged.
Stop micromanaging workers and actively listen to Supervisors and front level employees who work directly with clients. Stop sacrificing quality for quantity of work and stop ysing discounts to appease clients and correct the source of the issues.
Paying its employees a reasonable and fair salary
Review from Sales Dept
Listen to employees and pay them better. Stop the bottoms up reporting and start to look yourself.
Realizing that their expectations for employee success are unreasonable and that the benefits they once touted as their reasoning for lower than average pay scale are now offered by their competitors as well as higher pay.
Annual increases equating to more than 2%
Better pay, better benefits for employees outside of CA or NY. Lighter workload, better work-life balance & better executive leadership decisions.
A fair base salary and compensation along with bonuses
Review from Sales Dept
Base salary is not as high as id like
More competitive wages for those working directly with clients.
They're doing the best they can
Review from Customer Support Dept
Honesty, communication, to be secure with themselves and not throw coworkers under the bus out of jealousy.
Conversations with coworkers was basically just crying and the stress of working at Paychex is ridiculous. Again this company has very little integrity.
Stop using slogans and catch phrases over and over, like a chant.
Improve on partnering and not picking only one or two people that they wanna help. Make it where they are incentives to help give leads other than taking from partners commission so that it fosters good partner vs the later due to people not wanting to share revenue
Better salaries and fair treatment of employees
Review from Sales Dept
Treat employees with respect. Listen to their opinions. Create a nurturing and caring environment
Overhire and allow support to those who work directly with employees with the time and opportunity to learn what is necessary to support the client base.
Executive leadership needs to be removed and bring in more forward-thinking 2022-type leaders.
Management style. Employees straight out of college and experienced employees are grouped together.
The interviews themselves vary from manager to manager - skills for interviewing are not always at a level necessary to identify the right employees. It can be very hard to get into leadership without leadership experience, causing employees to leave Paychex to get this experience.
For internal interviews don't let the interviewer try to put imaginary interpersonal issues on the interviewee.
you don't always get to interview with the hiring manager but then they decide based off other peoples statements. It's also a completely different process depending on the hiring manager for the same position. Even though we have standards they aren't consistent across the entire company only part
tell your managers it's not okay to try to make interviews personal or bring up personal issue during the interview
Review from Operations Dept
Managers need to be more honest about the work and company
Review from Sales Dept
Overworked and underpaid employees. A CEO who genuinely dislikes his employees and doesn't try to hide it.
Company has lost perspective on the value of its employees
Reps are non-responsive to customer issues
Stop cutting cost on headcount and salaries. They can't keep good people to stay because they're not paying them the industry average.
We do not have the experience and staffing to keep up with the rate of sales - it is unmanageable growth and the company has not kept up with industry pay for its employees and technology updates that may be an investment but would positively impact client and employee satisfaction exponentially.
