I had a hard start and almost quit but thanks to some great co workers and one awesome assistant manager I'll be around.
I would like job descriptions to be more clear and thorough during the interview.
There needs to be actual training for new hires and managers should not hide from customers because they don't know where accident report papers are in their own store.
Its all about the customers to me getting to the point that someone comes in and greets me by name is the most precious and priceless moment of any job. I enjoy cultivating those relations with hungry individuals.
I would like to see training and training tools offered, those who want to do their best should have access so they may perform at higher efficiencies and not fear being fired for not having a system for success.
Haven't seen a person wash their hands since I started. No training means less efficiency from everyone managers included. Managers should not hit on employees its just awkward especially when they are married. Nor should anyone publicly be asked about a mental disability.
Managers need better communication skills with employees especially when language barriers come into play. Managers need an outlet for their personal lives so they do not affect their work relations such as taking people off the schedule without fair notice or because they dislike a question.
Personal lives of others shouldn't be discussed so openly at work. Managers should not ask out employees especially on the clock. TRAINING for ALL. Managers shouldn't hide when a customers child falls because they don't know how or where the accident forms are. Better system of efficiency.
Communication must change, quick meetings for am and pm staff would greatly improve things. Some sort of safety protocol to avoid burns and scrapes. MORE INFORMATION AND ACCESS TO WORK RELATED MATERIALS. If you really want to bring a store together offer an outing to get to know each other.
We have our own best practices that get us by but in my tenure thus far we don't have any type of quick meetings or updates about changing information. We are at a disadvantage and could have higher productivity with more effective communication from management. We simply need more than we have.
My managers cant tell me how to look into my benefits or change my 401k commitment. I am expected to be efficient in all areas of the store without any safety tools or protocols, at last none I've been shown since starting. I need more training tools and information easily accessible to be happy.
I am entered into the database as a full time employee and I see less than 20 hours a work week. Would be nice to see better hours on the job. Also the work conditions are poor and again managers don't have answers and give you the run around. Actually seeing a break would be nice.
Don't spit out a random time for someone to interview and then have them waiting an hour and a half because your understaffed. It's unprofessional and starts a hesitant relationship. If I can be prompt and on time then so should a manager be or at the very least offer a meal while I wait.
