SchellmanCARES was formalized as our corporate social responsibility (CSR) program in 2018 with the intention of creating a launchpad for programs within our Firm that reflect the values, interests, and needs of our ever-growing and evolving team. This employee-led initiative demonstrates our commitment to issues that we are most passionate about: Charity, Advocacy, Resources, Employee Engagement, and Service (CARES).
The five main pillars of the CARES program are as follows:
C: Charity - We believe in generosity and helping the needy or suffering.
A: Advocacy - We encourage our colleagues to support social causes that matter to them and their communities, and our society.
R: Resources- We believe in providing resources and support groups for employee led initiatives that help to improve quality of life and shared experiences between team members.
E: Employee Engagement - We believe in putting our culture at the forefront and providing opportunities for our team members to engage with one another on a personal level.
S: Service - We promote volunteerism and giving back to our communities.
In addition, our employee-led advocacy groups (EAGs) have been created in the vein of our pillar of advocacy. Through our EAGs, we have been able to organically build our Inclusion and Diversity Program. Network and affinity groups exist not only to benefit each group member as well as to strategically work both inwardly and outwardly to align group members and our organization as a whole.
