Q&A With Signet Employees
IDX: 0 TOT: 30
How secure do you feel at your job at Signet?
Not very as I made more money and had a higher commission rate plus was more experienced. It seemed they tried to find ways to squeeze out the older employees to replace with lower paid younger ones.
How's the work pace at Signet?
Depends on the time of year. It can be quite busy and hectic during seasonal sales. Other times quite slow
What's the office layout like at Signet?
Worked at store level so had no office.
What's one thing you wish you'd known before joining Signet?
It was not Signet when I started. They bought the business out and changed and lowered the commission scale which was not fair to thousands of current good sales people!
What's the Sales team like at Signet?
Most are not fair and ethical and will take sales when you aren't there. Needs iimprovement with managers to set the tone.
How's the leadership on the Sales team at Signet?
Most managers are not qualified to manage and are younger, a general bias against those who are experienced and older.
How do I do well in an interview at Signet?
Be yourself and sell yourself as worth hiring.

Positive about 7 years ago.

DM and store manager. I knew pretty much right away as I was recruited.

Background check

How does Signet handle HR issues?
They really don't do a very good job with HR issues. It depends on who you are if the managers are biased and behave unethically to benefit their own agenda. It is about impossible to contact the HR person in the corp office. I never had an issue but saw a LOT of those who did.
How innovative is Signet?
They seem to try new ideas and change their minds within a short period of time
How does Signet measure success and growth in the Sales department?
They go by your success in 5 different areas--not just amount of sales.
Why work for Signet?
I would not recommend working for signet. Pay is not equal to amount of knowledge and expertise needed for the sales job at store level. Managers are not fair most of the time. Commission based sales becomes very biased and leaves a lot of room for unethical practices. Managers do very little to set the tone to prevent this and in fact participate in helping those who are favorites.
What benefits does Signet provide?
health insurance, short term disability insurance, dental/vision insurance and a small life insurance policy
