Snap Finance Employee Reviews | Comparably
Snap Finance Claimed Company
Since 2012, Snap has been on a mission to bring flexible, pay-over-time financing options to all consumers. Our retail partners told us that many of their customers couldn’t qualify for traditional credit, causing embarrassment and leaving them with no way to buy the items they want and need for their families. This gap also left our retail partners with missed opportunities. At Snap, we’ve harnessed the power of data to empower customers of all credit types and to help retailers close more sales. Our technology brings together machine learning, non-traditional risk variables, and years of data to create a proprietary decisioning platform. The result is financing that looks at each customer through a more holistic, human lens. We’re proud to serve the 40% of U.S. consumers who are building or rebuilding their credit. Our fast, flexible pay-over-time solutions are changing the face and the pace of consumer retail finance. And we’re hiring! read more

Recognizing and appreciating the employees who bring value to Snap

Review from Finance Dept

Identifying and developing in-house talent. Enabling innovation. Delegating decision making.

Review from Engineering Dept

They have to listen to their employees, they have to send clear messages if we always reach our goals but we do not get raises or bonus, it is contradictory

Review from Engineering Dept

- Good leaders possess self-awareness - garner credibility. - focus on relationship-building - have a bias for action. - exhibit humility - empower others - stay authentic, - present themselves as constant and consistent - share knowledge

Review from Engineering Dept

Listen to your employees. Constructive criticism should not be considered "Negative Language". Take accountability for what is happening, stop getting offended when the process does not work. Look out for the business not your friends. Address frustrations and do try to wash them away with jokes.

What do your coworkers need to improve and how could you work together better?

Team Reviews

less arguing in team meetings

Review from Customer Support Dept

Respecting those around them and understanding that they are not the only people in the office or with opinions and thoughts that may be different.

Review from Finance Dept

Everyone needs to come together and be a fun team. When your team barely talks and interacts then the job can become depressing.

Review from Customer Support Dept

Our team has almost no cohesion. We don't have any common goals and rarely do anything to help each other out. My team is a leadership team in our department, but it lacks engagement and vision.

Review from Engineering Dept

Less working in siloes, more communication and cohesiveness.

Review from Design Dept

What needs to change to make the company culture better?

Environment Reviews

More activities we used to have, that made us feel that we were important. They used to send us gifts at home, two parties a year and also Christmas bonus.

Review from Operations Dept

Executives and people in HQ need to listen to the field more. Ideas and plans implemented are self-ego driven and do not work. Under qualified people are given titles with the freedom to do as they please. No accountability, no trust, no confidence, horrible communication and Friends over business.

Company culture is very good - overall friendly stakeholders and coworkers - however, culture should be more "global" - provide opportunities to cross-train across countries.

What's going wrong and how can it be improved?

Outlook Reviews

collections is hard and people are rude its just the nature of the job

Review from Customer Support Dept

Executive team being able to recognize and care for those on their teams. Treat them like people.

Review from Finance Dept

We barely have any interaction with one another besides 2 meetings a week and in those meetings we maybe have small talk or an ice break for maybe a few minutes. No one really seems to be interested in getting to know eachother

Review from Customer Success Dept

More motivation and interaction. It seems as if the negative comes to light more than anything you do positive.

Review from Customer Support Dept

Austerity has turned the company into a dog eat dog world. Too many mouths to feed. Unclear/lack of ownership on key processes. Incredible difficulty of getting information on how our systems work. Way too many unproductive meetings.
