How's the leadership on the Engineering team at SpareFoot?
Leadership lacks organization.
What's the Engineering team like at SpareFoot?
Constantly changing team dynamics creates a situation making it very difficult to accomplish anything of note, or in a speedy manor. The leadership cannot stick with a simple plan and create a situation where the entire engineering org is in a constant state of churn. Some developers are very good, others are very poor. There is no sense of meritocracy that allows the good engineers to become leaders, rather it's just the most boisterous engineers that cry until they get their way which often leads to poor practices and policies within the organization. As a good engineer in Austin, you could do much better than Sparefoot. If you're a bad engineer it's a nice place to be.
What's the interview process like at SpareFoot?
You're a Cis white male? You're in. Otherwise they claim that you don't fit in with the company culture.
What part of SpareFoot's business is growing fastest? What part is having difficulties?
Sparefoot claims to be growing, but if they are it's an an extremely anemic rate. I wouldn't consider Sparefoot growing in any aspect.
What do people at SpareFoot think about the CEO? What do they do well and what can they improve?
Half of the people praise and worship the CEO like a cult. The other half haven't figured out why the cult members are acting this way.
How's the work life balance at SpareFoot?
Same as every other tech job in Austin.
Does SpareFoot have any remote positions?
No, they disallow working remote.

They claim it's a "No-policy vacation policy", but if you take too many vacation days then they will tell you not to or terminate you, so I guess that's their No-policy vacation policy policy.
