The ideal candidate should have a kept-up appearance, be completely drug and alcohol free, be motivated and willing enough to perform his or her work well and with integrity, as well as be willing to obey because the manager has been good enough to them that the person ordering them around deserves a good response. Yes, they are getting paid, but the work they perform is only as good as the managers.
