What is the best part about your compensation package at UserTesting?
Every employee receives $2,000 to spend on conferences, training courses, books, webinars, etc.
There are some great perks. Lunches, snacks, yoga, massages, gym membership. etc.

What is the best advice you could give someone during their first month at UserTesting?
Don't show too much initiative, the old timers don't like being shown up
WORK. Work on a Saturday or Sunday each week - the company is in hyper growth mode - the faster you ramp the more valuable you will be and the more engaged you'll be in this incredible company!!
What unique perks and benefits does UserTesting provide?
The sabbatical is the best perk!
You name it -- massages, lunch catered twice a week, crazy snacks, gym memberships to burn off the snack calories. Solid health benefits package that is VERY reasonable for employees. There are a lot of perks for employees - probably one of the key aspects of working at UT are the perks!
What's the Sales team like at UserTesting?
It's a small sales team - less than 20 outside sales people. Sales team ranges from 5 years or less experience to over 20 years of sales and sales management experience.
Last year it was great and we hired good people but with the new leadership the good people have left or are looking. How does a new sales leader not hire anybody from his past?

No, we do not do drug testing. We do perform standard background checks

just the previous CEO and his mutt were allowed, but that guy just floated around life anyway avoiding decisions

How do you feel about going to work at UserTesting everyday?
It's great. Company is growing and the product is the best in the market. Customers rave about us and the stories they share about how their digital products improve thanks to UserTesting - this is very rewarding.
How difficult is it to maintain a social life while in your job at UserTesting?
Not difficult. Definitely a good work / life balance.
What are the team outings like at UserTesting?
Team outings fall into two buckets - volunteer based and fun based. There are a couple of major volunteer outings each year - regardless of what office you work from. The team outings are the usual - baseball games, bars / restaurants. Lst year at an all hands meeting, we brought in a dozen or so games of skill / competitive games so that we could compete with colleagues. All in all, the outings aren't extravagant but often very fun.
How can I improve my chances of being hired at UserTesting?
Learn everything you can about UserTesting competitors as well as the UX/CX space - these are key.
How much and how often do raises happen at UserTesting?
In my two years, I have not asked for or received a raise. In the sales department, you don't normally expect raises as your comp is based upon sales quota achievement and beyond. In roles outside of sales, I would expect raises to occur on annual reviews and / or with a promotion. I have seen dozens of promotions in my short time at UserTesting - we are big believers in promoting from within the organization.
How's the morale at UserTesting?
It's really great.
What's the office layout like at UserTesting?
There are several offices - mostly no offices - just cubicles - everyone is approachable.
What's the vibe like in the Sales dept at UserTesting? How many hours are you working?
Very friendly vibe amongst sales people. Working a full 40 hour work week.
How's the leadership on the Sales team at UserTesting?
Sales leadership tends to micro-manage at the deal level which can be frustrating, but over all, Sales Leadership is solid.
How much diversity is there among employees at UserTesting?

We are a very diverse group! Heavily female and a broad spectrum of backgrounds, nationalities, and ethnicity. We're always trying to improve!

How's the vacation policy at UserTesting?

We have an "open-ended" paid time off policy for exempt employees -- no accrual, just take your time off as you need it with your discretion and in conjunction with your manager.
I think its very good. Its 3 weeks to start and they just announced we are taking Dec. 22 to the 31st off.
What does the leadership team at UserTesting need to get better at?
Better communication between teams. Also having a plan and following through. They only consistence in this company is change.
