Mr. David J. Small has been Executive Vice President of Wireline Network Operations at Verizon Communications Inc. since August 24, 2016. Mr. Small served as an Executive Vice President of Wireless Operations for Verizon Wireless at Verizon Communications Inc. since October 21, 2015 until August 24, 2016. Mr. Small served as Senior Vice President of Verizon Enterprise Solutions Group at Networkfleet, Inc. He served as Chief Platform Officer of Verizon Enterprise Solutions, Inc. and was responsible for Verizon's cloud and data center, security services, connected solutions (M2M), telematics, consulting and healthcare business units. He served as President of Verizon Wireless Inc for Northeast area of Verizon Communications Inc., since October 3, 2007. Mr. Small served as Chief Technical Officer and Senior Vice President of Verizon Wireless Inc. and served as its Vice President. He served as Vice President of Verizon Access Services. Mr. Small served as the President of Northeast Area at Cellco Partnership, Inc. He was responsible for Verizon Communications's operations in the New England, New York Metro, Philadelphia Tri-State, Upstate New York and Washington/Baltimore/Virginia Regions. He served as Senior Vice President of Marketing & Sales for domestic wholesale customers at Verizon Partner Solutions. Mr. Small held a number of leadership positions within Verizon Communications, including President of Verizon's wholesale business unit. He served as Vice President of Access Services and managed ordering, design and provisioning of wholesale access services in 19 states and the District of Columbia. He served as President for strategic planning, sales and marketing and operations of local and long-distance services. Prior to joining the wireless team in September 2007, Mr. Small served several leadership positions with Verizon Partner Solutions. He began his telecommunications career as a network design engineer for Contel and was responsible for planning, engineering and capital budgeting for telephone exchanges in Indiana. He served a number of engineering and sales leadership positions at the former Contel, an independent telephone company that merged with GTE. He served as General Manager of business response at GTE before GTE became part of Verizon. He served positions of increasing responsibility, including senior switching engineer, sales technical support and manager of regional and national sales. Prior to the Bell Atlantic/GTE merger, Mr. Small served as General Manager of business response and led the design and provisioning of switched/special services, switch translations across eight states and tier-two support of switch translations across the GTE footprint. He served as Chairman of KidsPeace. Mr. Small serves as Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of KidsPeace. Mr. Small has been active in community organizations, including Junior Achievement and Science Central. Mr. Small holds a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Purdue University and an M.B.A. from Ball State University.
