Executive Bio

Mr. Marc Christopher Reed has been the Chief Administrative Officer and Executive Vice President of Verizon Communications Inc. since 2012. Mr. Reed has end-to-end responsibility for human resources, real estate, supply chain services, procurement and fleet, to most effectively and efficiently leverage the Verizon collective assets and resources. Mr. Reed joined Verizon Communications on April 1, 2004. He served as an Executive Vice President of Human Resources at Verizon Communications Inc. from April 2004 to December 2011, where he was responsible for establishing overall policy and strategy related to compensation, benefits, labor policy, executive staffing, diversity, safety/environment and ethics. From 2000 to 2004, Mr. Reed served as Vice President of Human Resources for Verizon Wireless, where he was instrumental in establishing the performance-based culture that helped propel the Verizon into being the best-performing wireless company in the U.S. He previously served as the Vice President of Human Resources at Cellco Partnership from April 2000 to April 1, 2004. Mr. Reed served as Vice President of Human Resources at GTE Communications Corporation from 1997 to April 2000. He served a series of key human resources positions at GTE Wireless. He served as Director of Human Resources at GTE Wireless from 1993 to 1997. Mr. Reed began his career with GTE in 1986 at GTE's world headquarters. Mr. Reed serves as a Director of Verizon Investment Management Corp. He serves as a Member of the Verizon Operations Council, Verizon Corporate Council and Human Resources Policy Association Board. He has a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration from the State University of New York at Buffalo.
