Executive Bio

Mr. Matthew D. Ellis, also known as Matt, has been the Chief Financial Officer of Verizon Nederland B.V. since November 1, 2016 and serves as its Executive Vice President. Mr. Ellis has been Chief Financial Officer and Executive Vice President of Verizon Communications Inc. since November 1, 2016. He is responsible for the Verizon's finance and strategic planning operations and financial transaction services. He served as Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Operations Finance at Verizon Communications Inc. until November 1, 2016 and served as its Treasurer from 2013 to July 2015. Mr. Ellis was responsible for corporate-wide financing, cash management, pension and insurance activities, as well as the Verizon Capital Group, which provides asset-based financing, tax credit investment activities and enterprise customer financing. Prior to Verizon, he spent 15 years at Tyson Foods, Inc. in a variety of roles. He served as Vice President and Treasurer at Tyson Foods, where he was responsible for financing, cash management, insurance and credit. From 2007 to 2010, Mr. Ellis served as Vice President of Finance at Tyson Foods, where he was responsible for M&A activity, including transactions in China, Brazil and India. From 2005 to 2007, he served as Vice President and Country Manager with responsibility for all aspects of Tyson's Mexico subsidiary. From 1997 to 2004, he held a number of positions within finance and accounting. Previously, Mr. Ellis worked in England for Dixons Stores Group plc and Coopers & Lybrand, where he qualified as a Chartered Accountant. Mr. Ellis holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting) degree from the University of Birmingham in the United Kingdom.
