Mr. Torod B. Neptune has been Vice President of Global Communications at Lenovo Group Limited since March 27, 2017. Mr. Neptune joined Lenovo from Verizon where he has overseen communications for each of its major business units, including managing a global team across the US, APAC, EMEA and Latin America. He served as Vice President of Corporate Communications of Cellco Partnership, Inc. (a/k/a Verizon Wireless) since July 13, 2012. Mr. Neptune was responsible for defining and managing Verizon Wireless' communications strategies worldwide, including corporate messaging, social media, digital strategy, public affairs, media and industry analyst relations, executive communications, community relations and multicultural and employee communications. Mr. Neptune served as Vice President of Communications, Products and Services at Verizon Communications Inc. since May 1, 2010. Mr. Neptune led strategy and implementation for Verizon's telecom and business product lines. He served as Senior Vice President of Public Affairs Practice and global public affairs practice leader at Waggener Edstrom Worldwide, Inc. since August 2004. In that role, he led efforts to develop industry-leading communications campaigns for a variety of clients in the U.S., Europe and Asia, in the technology, financial services, health care and energy industries. He also oversaw Waggener Edstrom Worldwide's Washington, D.C., and Brussels offices, its global public affairs, crisis and issues management practices and managed several client relationships. Mr. Neptune joined Waggener Edstrom from the U.S. House of Representatives, where he served as director of strategic and crisis communications for the House's Chief Administrative Officers' organization and led crisis communications planning and response. He was responsible for developing a 24x7, on-call crisis communications program for the House of Representatives at the U.S. House of Representatives. He also led the House's organizational communications program, overseeing communications targeted to more than 11,000 members of the Congressional House staff. Before Capitol Hill, he served as Senior Vice President of Corporate communications and public affairs with Bank of America Corp., where he was responsible for external and internal communications, media relations, charitable giving, government relations, public affairs, issues management, public policy and brand communications for Bank of America 's Consumer Products Division. Before Bank of America he was employed with Washington, D.C., public affairs firm Powell Tate, providing counsel to numerous Fortune 500 companies operating in environments of intense public and regulatory scrutiny. He also worked with D.C. agencies Hager Sharp and Public Affairs Group. He has created brand building, defending and protecting strategies for such leading companies as DuPont, Nike Corp., General Mills, Delta Airlines, MCI Corp., KMPG and the Nasdaq Stock Market over the years. He has more than 17 years of experience in Washington, D.C., directing public affairs communications strategies for a range of private and government organizations. He began his career as a reporter with The State newspaper in Columbia, S.C. He serves as Trustee of Institute for Public Relations. He serves on the board of directors of the Lagrant Foundation, the Homeownership Preservation Foundation and the Corporation for Enterprise Development. He has a B.A. in government and international relations from the University of South Carolina.
