Out of 225 Viking Cruises employee reviews, 55% were positive. The remaining 45% were constructive reviews with the goal of helping Viking Cruises improve their work culture.
Teaching us with proper instruction and in a polite manner
creative and innovative ideas and support from all
Professional, admirable, role model. Kudos everyone
They need to learn more
Leadership really listens - their hands might be tied to do everything you want but they always take feedback into serious consideration
Management does not understand our team at all. Every decision to make changes negatively impacts are ability to sell and reduces our income. We were hired with promises of great commission, but this is just gaslighting. We make less than many of the retail workers locally. I blame management.
They need to create a culture that creates buy in and fosters a sense of enthusiasm for the job. Greater fairness and transparency will be great too.
The leadership teams from each dept actively work against each other. Supervisors require 300% outbound to inbound ratio but WF management team is constantly reminding employees to wait 5+ seconds before making outbound calls, constant tug of war between WF and supervisors, emp. stuck in the middle.
Management at Viking already knows everything. There is no use in asking WHY? or asking them to maybe try something different, like give adequate customer service. If you hate customers and love saying NO! This is the job for YOU! You'll be a Lead in no time.
Being kind, nonjudgmental leaders who lead by example not fear.
The salary and retirement plan
amazing medical insurance, free cruises
The medical benefits are paid by the company
Generous benefits packages offering virtually free health care
highly subsidized medical, dental, vision plans,
The ability to make an adult income has dramatically reduced. Viking hires by advertising for experiences salespeople, and require evidence of a proven track record, but they pay as if you are fresh out of high school with no experience.
As a sales agent their should be greater compensation and a better process regarding conversion rates. You get penalised for calls you have no control over which is ridiculous
Higher salaries, more time in port for crew
Company are becoming more concerned with budgeting- stringent cuts in some areas are impacting experince onboard for guests and crew
I think the company need better work schedules, compared to what you are paid and also hours you do. You also need to pay alot of money from your own pocket to travel TOO work, which i think is unfair
My peers are gold, and we are all in this hot mess together.
The team wants you to succeed only as long as their pay is not affected.
Overall, Team is morivated to being the best they can be and take onboard points of improvement
that we treat each other like a family
They teach me how to do the job in a nice way
They need to work not pretend working.
Better training, better support, better project time, better strategy session (or any strategy session). The only employees who can make it in this company have either worked in similar businesses or got hired before the new metric requirements.
To treat people with more respect, especially girls and people who are not fillipinos
Communication. I have been blatantly ignored on several occasions from all my co-workers. If you need help don't expect it from your teammates because no one wants to help one another since you all work against each other trying to make sales and convert bookings
The requirement to be positive. But, we really have a lot of problems that get squelched.
The guests and the friendship of some crew members.
The product is good and guests like it enough to come back.
Evrything , staff, guest, ports, benefits all of it
Support from management to rise within my role and in the company
A complete overall of leadership and the management style
They need to let eveyrone share something from their culture, creative side, when it comes to crew food, ofc considering food waste. But also i felt as a woman often like an object and not a person with knowledge
Make the environment more engaging.
Communication. Stop micro-managing. Maybe go to a happy hour together for team/corporate bonding - this is the first corporate company I've worked for that doesn't even hold Zoom Happy Hours for team bonding/team morale
You need to bring people with culture and manners into the company. Not to tolerate bully and rude persons to work over there!Right now you have several of them and they stick together and think they are untouchable!
I wanted to believe the lies about the income potential, and thought I was applying for a career for life. That false hope... I wish it was true.
The interview process was fair and they asked appropriate questions for the position
it was very smooth process
speaking with members from other teams to get perspective of the company
Nice and pleasant persons with nice manners
That they tell the truth and dont lie
Make sure youre interviewing people for the right position. lol I applied for sales.
Serving customers and growing the business
The friends I have made who are riding this out.
The insurance benefits offered to employees
Speaking with guests and building a relationship.
Interacting with clients, cooking crew food
Marketing is deceptive, guests complain all the time. Routing of calls is incorrect and causes many good employees to be negatively impacted with non-sales calls many employees believe is done intentionally.
The top of the company must have no idea what the bottom is doing or doesn't care.
