They would have such a disaster of management and the processes were so poorly designed and deployed.

Scattered all over the USA.
What's the pay like for Engineering roles at Windstream?
The pay is reasonable, no raises though, ever.
What's the vibe like in the Engineering dept at Windstream? How many hours are you working?
Working a lot on what we think are the important things to do.
What's the Engineering team like at Windstream?
The leadership team isn't qualified to lead. There is very little to no communication on company goals, lots of layoffs and the team being formed is all from EarthLink management, the modem bank company. They have no idea what to do with a company that is 10 times larger than what their company used to be. We have 100 people every day sitting on a conference call discussing fiber issues from the previous evening. Such a waste of time.

My immediate manager is interested in what I have to say but if I were to give an idea to an upper level exec, they probably wouldn't give it any thought whatsoever.
What kind of people succeed at Windstream?
Lately, in my division, if you were from the EarthLink merger, you were given a high ranking position, regardless of your qualifications or lack thereof.
How secure do you feel at your job at Windstream?
Not very secure at all.
What's the best part of your job at Windstream?
Being paid every 2 weeks.
How do you feel about going to work at Windstream everyday?
It can be mentally draining because of all of the layoffs. There have been at least 3 layoffs that I know of so far this year and I think we may have another coming before the end of 2017. Add to that the lack of executive knowledge concerning the voice industry and it can be disheartening.
