Executive Bio

Mr. David T. Hudson has been the President at Southwestern Public Service Company since December 31, 2013 and served as its Chief Executive Officer since January 2014 until January 2015. Mr. Hudson served as Director of Strategic Planning and Community Service at Southwestern Public Service Company (Sps) and served as its Director of Community Service & Economic Development from April 2011 to January 2014; Director of Strategic Planning from May 2008 to April 2011; and Director of Regulatory Administration from August 2000 to May 2008; Director of Electric Retail/Wholesale Services from May 1997 to August 2000. He was responsible for charting business strategy for SPS and coordinating all community relations efforts in the Texas-New Mexico service area. He is located in the SPS headquarters building in Amarillo. Mr. Hudson began his career at SPS in 1984 as a rate engineer. He worked his way up through rates and regulatory administration to the position of director. In 2008, he was tapped to coordinate strategic planning for Southwestern Public Service. He has been a Director of Southwestern Public Service Company at Xcel Energy Inc. since January 1, 2014. Mr. Hudson earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Engineering from Texas Tech University in 1983, and Master's of Business Administration from West Texas State University in 1990. He is a licensed professional engineer in the State of Texas.
