They just laid off like almost half the company
They just laid off 1/3 of the company. No notice, meager severance on the lady day of the month, so immediate COBRA on rent/ mortgage day. Pack up your desk and leave immediately. Fired in a group interview and people who didn't work at NYC headquarters were fired remotely on a group Highfive. The most unprofessional thing I've ever seen
Layoffs are very uncommon – possibly non-existent. It seems like people stay at Zeel for the long-term (several years) and have the opportunity to move across departments, designing their own ideal jobs.

We don't need more perks. We need a less hostile working environment

Zeel's work-life balance is very good. They really practice what they preach when it comes to wellness. Employees work hard, but most leave the office at a reasonable hour. Personal working styles are respected; after-hours emails or Slack messages are rare for most departments.
How common is it to switch departments or teams at Zeel?
Switching departments is very common and welcome at Zeel. Many people who started with the company 4-5 years ago are now in totally different roles – either having worked their way up to a leadership position in their department, or switching departments entirely. Employees have the opportunity to take classes to learn a new skillset (for example, product management or UX design) and then transition into a lateral move that matches their career path.
How's the vacation policy at Zeel?
Unlimited PTO. Managers are very flexible and accommodating when it comes to requesting time off. Zeel definitely practices what they preach when it comes to wellness and work-life balance.
