some orgs are fun by "leaders" with absolutely NO real world real estate experience. Constant data tracking errors and changing kpi targets monthly. Not worth the constant stress of feeling your job is on the line. 90% performance is considered a low performance in this org.

Over the past 8 months in Seattle things have been becoming less and less fun. Contest prizes don't payout like they used to. Certain regions have it much easier than others.
Open office concept. Highly collaborative, engaging, and most important: fun!

How's the vacation policy at Zillow?
For engineers it's a DTO (Discretionary Time Off) policy, meaning that employees can take as much time as they need, when they need it.
For "exempt" (standard non-commission based f/t) employees, we receive Discretionary Time Off. Discretion of yourself and your manager. There is no strict x number of days, so unlimited so to speak, so long as you get your job done.

No pets.
Some offices are dog friendly, like the San Francisco, Lincoln Nebraska, and Vancouver location. Other offices aren't due to landlord restrictions

What should I wear for an interview at Zillow?
Casual (but not too casual, obviously).
Zillow is pretty casual on dress code. Its best to wear business casual for engineering interview
How's the morale at Zillow?
Dependends on your team manager, sometimes you get a manager who are apathy to your career progress and keep shifting your goal for promotion. Luckily Zillow if big enough company where you can move around between team and find another manager that can mentor and guide you to your promotion path.

Higher than market (at least in Vancouver).

What's the vibe like in the Engineering dept at Zillow? How many hours are you working?
Good vibe. Smart people. Very technically intelligent managers for the most part. Work week is 40-50 hours
around 8 hours
