People are good, everything looks good and work most of the time, the progress is slow but it feels like always progressing.

How can I improve my chances of being hired at Google?
Your first hurdle is to get an interview. If you manage that, then study you ass off. If you don't have strong fundamentals and can't solve medium-level Leetcode problems, then don't bother. Getting an offer is just the beginning, you still have to perform on the job which is harder than the interview itself, so ask yourself do you really want to work at Google.
Be a white male who graduated Stanford
be different

Digital surveys for everything.
Yes. Digital.
How's the work life balance at Google?
Antwort der Top-Mitarbeiter
You are expected to perform. You are expected to work long hours to make tight deadlines.
Depends on the org and manager. My most recent experience was terrible - all the way up to th VP - zero consideration and compassion for the human being.
Often pretty challenging .. Generally the higher priority area you're on, the busier and more competitive it gets. If you want to keep going towards promotion and growth, be ready to work hard. Then there are definitely teams and roles that are less visible and worse for your career growth but great for work life balance!
Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation at Google?
Better equity compensation
Not paid appropriately for the work in my field
It'd be good pay if it weren't in the Bay Area. Houses rise in value faster than I can save.

Antwort der Top-Mitarbeiter
Google is a Dog company. Dogs are the only pets allowed on campus. You can bring your dog to work, but check with your coworkers in your immediate surroundings before assuming it's fine to bring your dog to work. Check with everyone in a meeting before bringing your dog into a confined space and use good judgment. You shouldn't plan on bringing your dog to work every day, though some people do. Some buildings are dog free due to allergies.
Dogs, yes. Cats, no.
Most teams allow dogs. No cats or ferrets or birds or anything else
How would you describe your overall experience interviewing at Google?

If they’re able to be bought out.
Google promotes itself as inclusive, diverse, fun, collaborative, and more but looking at news and reviews.... It seems if you have differing views (religious), are diverse (female Asian), or want work life balance you won't be accepted?
Antwort der Top-Mitarbeiter
I am a female asian at Google, and there are many ,many like me here (many, many of them with kids). Google is my fourth company and while there are issues here and there (as you would expect in any company with more than 100,000+ employees), it still way ahead of other places I have worked at. But by all means, if it makes you feel better than your race and gender is the reason you are not getting hired, keep telling yourself that.
Yes very much so. They do not value women who want to have children, the disabled, and/or people who need work life balance. They also frown upon political actions or anyone speaking out about unfair policy, or saying some of the tech is "creepy"
I agree. Take YouTube for example, if you express an opposing view, they will demonetize and/or remove your channel. I can't speak for everybody, but work/life balance isn't very good. Many of the problems that you work on is not trivial and requires a lot of investment in time. Maybe that is why it's hard to get an offer from them.
What is the dress code at Google?
Antwort der Top-Mitarbeiter
wear stylish casual clothing
Casual
dress appropriately
How much diversity is there among employees at Google?
Antwort der Top-Mitarbeiter
None. They pretend, but everyone who may be "technically" diverse in gender or ethnicity, is basically the same cookie-cutter Stanford grad from a privileged background who joined for the money, not for passion. Even people from other countries all have similar backgrounds and attended the same schools and in the same social circles. Diversity is just a word. I've seen them not hire women bc they thought they were pregnant, and make excuses for not hiring African Americans becaise of a "pipeline issue." It used to be different when Larry and Sergey were still around. I used to believe that we wanted to change silicon valley.
I find my teams have been very diverse but still room to improve across the company
not enough - especially intellectual diversity
