My first six years my mood declined rapidly. My manager was terrible and only the people who said 'yes' to everything got promoted. My hard work was ignored and I found myself becoming very depressed. I moved teams/departments two years ago and I've never been happier.

The flexibility I have to work from locations other than my desk.

insurance costs need to be lowered; I would like to see more people get promoted who actually deserve it instead of clones of the managers doing the promoting

We are family-friendly, and LGBTQ+ allies. We have a lot of work to do on diversity & inclusion, particularly on race but we're committed to making good on promises to be more inclusive for all types of people.

HR needs to be more involved in internal interviews that take place. Letting a team's manager select all of the interviewers makes things very difficult for internal moves when that manager influences the other interviewers' opinions prior to meeting the candidate.

Healthcare costs are too expensive and rise every year. That's a government problem though, not a Kohl's problem. My compensation for what I do is great, but I think we pay our hourly associates in our store too little to be competitive.

My team has the best culture. There are areas of this company that do not fit my team's culture though. The team I used to be on is very toxic and it's due to poor leadership and promoting the wrong people. Overall Kohl's is a caring community-driven company.
