Is there a company cafeteria? If so, is it good?
Meilleure réponse des employés
Depends which of the several sites and several buildings at each site you visit. Overall, cafeteria is fair considering Aramark caters.
That depends on your location
Boeing has cafeterias across all campuses. They are serviced exclusively by Eurest which a large commercial vendor. There are a fair amount of selections and good choices. We have "traveling chefs" that come in each week and offer local experiences. It's still a corporate cafeteria, but not bad (usually).
If you could make changes, how would you improve the culture at Boeing?
Meilleure réponse des employés
Boeing needs to cull the company HR herd. In a typical Boeing division there is a minimum of five or six layers of HR management and hundreds and hundreds of HR robots. The Boeing HR herd preaches what they call Boeing Behaviors but rarely does any of them personally practice these behaviors themselves. Take it from someone who witnessed a HR robot flat out and lie.
Disallow any and all meetings without a written agenda and expected outcome!
Get all management retrained that it is the people on the floor that generate value. No disrespect shoulf be allowed to go employees. Establish clear anti-bullying policies, and train everyone.

What's the interview process like at Boeing?
Boeing's interview process is a waste of time. Questions asked are irrelevant to the job you are interviewing for. It's more like PC questions they ask. I believe Boeing misses out hiring a lot of smart and innovated people due to their poor Interview process.
Very inflexible, canned questions of a structured interview. Very wasteful and ineffective. Cannot stray from the canned questions.
I wasn’t keen on the questions, they had very little about the job at hand.
What's the work from home policy like at Boeing?
Allowed on a case by case basis.
In my group, my manager allows us to work from home as needed. The manager determines what's best for the team when it comes to work from home.
Too much working from home. I believe people should be at work. Don’t think Boeing is getting the bang for the buck
How do I do well in an interview at Boeing?
Be prepared and don’t get chatty!
Structured interview process, look it up.
Demonstrate your true knowledge, skills, experience, and passions. Listen to questions carefully, tell the situation, what YOU did in that case, and what the result was, even if it was not successful. Do not lie.
What's the pay like for Engineering roles at Boeing?
Meilleure réponse des employés
Depends on the job class. Software roles tend to be below average
50% under market rate.
jobs are being replaced by contractors across the board. good luck not getting laid off in the future and eroding benefits. the union only helps and slows down the company's ability to take them away. Raises get eaten up by increases in Health copays and deductibles. no more pension for new hires. non represented no longer have sick leave and vacation plus have to work for free for 4 hours per week to get compensated.
What's the vibe like in the Engineering dept at Boeing? How many hours are you working?
40-60 hours. Pretty depressing. Everyone is trying to retire and just collecting a paycheck.
Feast or famine. When busy, expect long days and weekends.
Nice easy vibe, only 40 a week. The company is great for work life balance.
What do people at Boeing think about the CEO? What do they do well and what can they improve?
They really don’t get to know or interact with the CEO, hence their opinions depend on what they get from news.
CEO and higher officers only care about the bottom dollar and not the people who work for them.
Overall good and just share info more readily

Very low
Unnecessarily low. The company does not value it most valuable resources - engineers, who make the company.
Boeing is a large company some groups the moral is great and others not. The company as a hole believes people work best in a in a positive atmosphere, and work to improve moral as well as make tools available for individuals who would be part of a positive change to affect change in their environment
How does Boeing make decisions around promotions?
Based on merit!
Magic 8 ball apparently... We have managers and senior managers who are clueless and would have been fired 100 times over anywhere else.
From what I have witnessed, decisions regarding promotions are mostly based on if your current manager likes you or not. Most people have to transfer to a different Boeing job to be promoted because there is a no in place promotion rule in effect from what I have been told.
Who did you meet with during your interview? And how long did it take to hear back from Boeing?

What's the office vibe like at Boeing?
Meilleure réponse des employés
Depends on where you work. My current office vibe, the environment is to make others look bad thinking this makes the person doing so look good. Our manager encourages people in our group to give dirt on each other. If you don't play along you are not in the Managers click. This manager will also destroy your career if he does not like you.
Friendly and professional
It’s had been a bit stressful which was due to a couple issues, schedules and lack of work. However as Boeing has been winning new contracts, and attitudes have been improving. Uncertainty with work and a company has always been a key player in poor attitudes and having a backlog of work has always been key in positive attitude and performance.
