Negative and getting worse. They do the opposite of what they say and promote.

Cubicles for most people. There's apprehension about new seating layout that reduces the amount of space each employee has by created a shared cube space.
Could be better there has been recent changes which had separated the support teams from the labs.
Not enough storage
What's the company culture like at Boeing?
Depends on what site you are at. Different cultures or tribes exist throughout the company. I have worked at many Boeing sites in different States. The culture I least liked was in St Louis while working there. I am glad I got out of that town and moved to work at a Boeing site in another state.
Historical, long term
Bureaucratic and cynical.

What's the internship program like at Boeing?
None
Depends on the team. I have seen both good, when an intern is given a real task, and bad, when they are given busy work just to keep them occupied
Boeing is a great place to intern, groups receiving interns work to expose the intern to a broad scope of activities and their is training and mentoring available through corporate offerings during the internship.
Why work for Boeing?
Interesting work and great pay!
If you are passionate about aerospace engineering. There is no other advantage.
I started to ask myself the same question after having worked in a bad group for four years. You may end up in a good group doing interesting or boring work but the group culture is what helps you get through it. If you end up in a bad group such as I did, it can wear you down. It's also tough to transfer at Boeing too, You really need to luck out at times to get a job offer at a different site, especially if it is in another State.
What's the Operations team like at Boeing?
Secretive, untrustworthy and blame others.
Seem to work well with each other and all groups.
Great operations team

Good. Many are set in older ways, but generally very well educated and well versed in their disciplines.
Multi generational with smart people
What's one thing you wish you'd known before joining Boeing?
More of the processes
Office Politics
How great of a company it is to work for
Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation at Boeing?
I'm paid $20k less than what I'd be paid at another company doing the same work. Management doesn't understand value of work.
Management only cares about the .money they bring in. Employees come last. You may hear them say family first but that isnt true.
1. pay compensation a little below from the US Gov't.
What needs to change to make the company culture better at Boeing?
Recognition, communication, less politics, more enthusiasm about building something awesome. Stop beating smart people down.
HE was told and they didn't care.
Less bureaucracy and quicker results. Need to empower employees and compensate them accordingly.
What do you look for in a new hire? is it hard to recruit someone good?
Long term
Hard worker with a positive outlook
It changes from manager to manager. Generally, desire to change things and make them better is always helpful. Our recruiting system tends to pick the middle of the pack, but some managers cherry pick the very best.
How much job security do you have in ur role?
I think there's a lot of job security at Boeing. It's pretty rare to see people go except after a massive hiring wave. However, I never really know how close I am to being bumped out. I don't think my boss is looking out for my career or success in the company. My old boss cared a lot and kept me aware I had good job security. Now, who knows?
I am critical to my organization's success and I'm being laid off because a completely different group decided there was a surplus in my job title. No job security, even when you think it's there.
Hard to say. I rarely see people laid off, but my boss doesn't make me feel confident in my future at the company at all. My old boss did, but those days are over.
