Don't bother trying to bring up any criticisms regarding the way the store and company function, it will be labelled as "unneeded negativity"
There's no communication between shifts, and because the store is always open and we operate with such a small staff, there's never team meetings.
You can't expect someone to run around on their feet for 8 hours straight with no breaks and then also not cover orthotics in their insurance plans, you have to invest in your people for longevity if you want skilled&happy workers.
You are not the company, criticisms of the company and the way it functions has nothing to do with you as a person. They are a contract, a job, a paycheck, you don't owe them any more than what they pay you for.
I've never once spoken to someone from Human Resources, let alone met them. Former coworkers have tried reaching out about managerial issues and either played phone tag for weeks and gotten nowhere, or told "they're the manager, it's their store to do with as they please."
