  • This set of Comparably Awards are derived from sentiment ratings provided by employees who anonymously rated their employers on during a 12-month period (September 27, 2019-September 27, 2020).
  • Rankings were determined based on a series of questions related to work-life balance (in yes/no, true/false, 1-10 scale, and multiple-choice format). The answer to each question was given a numerical score and then compared to companies of similar size. Sample questions include:
    • Are you satisfied with your work-life balance?
    • How’s the work-life balance at your company?
    • On average, how many hours do you work per day?
    • How long do you take for lunch breaks?
    • Do you feel burnt out at work?
  • There were no fees or costs associated with participating, nor was nomination required. The final data set was compiled from 10 million ratings across 60,000 U.S. companies.
  • To qualify, Large companies (more than 500 employees) must have met a minimum of 75 employee participants and Small/Mid-Size companies (fewer than 500 employees) needed a minimum of 25 employee participants. For fairness and statistical significance, additional weight was given to companies with more participation from their employee base.
