Stop doing layoffs, hundreds of employees were laid off and the manner in which it was done was disheartening to watch. Employees were told they wouldn't be laid off then laid off a few days later or promised benefits and then not given to them.
Firing executive team was first step in the right direction. COO used to be head of sales and was completely terrible but only got promoted to COO after some interesting events. CLO was toxic and tore the company apart and created workplace conflicts and created division across the company
Everything. Leadership team followed the CEO around 24/7, read all his emails, and physically attacked and actually physically held employees back from talking the CEO. A new hire on my team tried to say hi to the CEO and proceeded to yell at the employee for talking to the CEO.
Layoffs were what went wrong. They could've been avoided if the executives were honest about the status of fundraising and the financials of the company. They lied to grab power from the CEO and proceeded to spend money and hire a ton of people and then lay them all off later.
