This is very team dependent. I'm lucky to be working with some smart and hard-working people, which makes me wanna push myself too.
Generally, mood in the office is fairly positive, even when under pressure to deliver. Team internally gets along really well, which makes for a pleasant environment.
GW likes to box people into very specific roles, where it's hard to further improve yourself outside of these very specific tasks. So, even if you are busy, you can be very bored, doing repetitive stuff over and over again.
It's a relatively well-known fact that GW pays under the market rate. This used to be compensated by having great company culture and other office perks. But now, in-office perks are pretty much gone, also, GW has been cutting financial benefits as well, for example, recent cut in LTI bonuses.
There are two key issues in GW. First, high performers are not rewarded properly, because GW equalizes pay, so there's no reason to overperform, since mediocrity it rewarded just as much. Second issue, execs talk big but there's hardly ever enough time and/or resources provided to do work well.
