One answer, two parts: PTO. We're allowed to build up some comp time which helps to save our PTO. And, by far the best, at the end of the year, we can sell back some leave which helps with Christmas.
Selling back leave is the best benefit. I've been able to pay down some of my debts in this way. I'm going to try doing it again one more year. I haven't been able to dig my way out until now.
