Enjoyed my interview with my current group manager, so I came on mid-pandemic. Worked from home quite a bit for the first year, and then started working more in-person. Enjoyed leading one of the smaller contracts.
The managers and executives really trust us to handle our own work. We aren't micromanaged at all.
I enjoy the times when I get to interact with my coworkers and overcome challenges in the tasks.
Lots of paid time off, good insurance, great 401(k) matching, high salary, all for performing work that never gets boring with people I like to be around!
I get to manage my own projects and have a lot of control over the final products. It gives me a lot of pride in my work!
My coworkers and supervisors are all very encouraging, and I have gained technical expertise from having been here. I also find joy in talking with my coworkers.
They seem to leave it up to the managers for the most part, and that freedom allows for a lot of flexibility in the work environment between groups.
My team is a group of encouraging and intelligent people. Everyone is kind and welcoming, and you feel at home with them on your first day. I've learned a lot from their expertise.
We have a lot of freedom to perform tasks how best see fit, and we take a lot of ownership of the things we do. I enjoy the relationships I have with my coworkers and the challenge of the work we do.
So I personally got an offer for $10k higher when I started my job here 1.5 years ago. I was expecting a higher raise after my first year to compensate for that difference. In addition, the lack of paid family leave is unacceptable in my opinion.
We are a very tight-knit group who enjoys the challenges of the work we do. I can't recommend my work environment any higher, and it's what keeps me here despite the fact that I could easily get a 15-20% raise going to one of the other companies in Research Park.
