I do not know, to be honest.

Be more proactive, study more.
Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?
I work a lot of overtime that is not paid, we don't have enough people in our department to distribute the amount of work appropriately. Hiring more people or getting paid more due to the amount of stress and work we need to do would be helpful.
What's going wrong and how can it be improved?
I usually need to work overtime due to the amount of work we are expected to handle with few people in the department. It's really easy to constantly be burn out and the expectation to continue working at the same pace to keep up. We need more people or better remuneration.
