It's fast moving. Its a 20 year old software company, so there is some legacy stuff, but they're also building lots of modern software and add new features regularly. They're buying companies, they're growing fast. It's a cool place to work

  • Met with the recruiter, the person who would be my manager and two other department heads. Took a couple of hours, lots of direct questions about how I would handle different problems or situations.

  • The process seemed pretty similar. I think all candidates that get pretty far down the funnel interview with the CEO, which was a new one for me. Directors and Managers I would guess meet the CEO, but Support reps do too, which I thought was different for a not-so-small company.

  • Pretty new to the organization, Marketing hadn't been much of a distinct discipline at DaySmart in the past. Now we're digging into web analytics, SEO, PPC, marketing automation and integrated comm campaigns that are moving the needle here - we're earning respect.

  • We have a good group of self-starters who each have pretty distinct areas of focus, so everyone keeps their nose to the grindstone. We also meet every morning and each team member updates the group on what's happening.

  • There's a real team mentality here. We pull together to tackle the inbound calls and frequently find time to recommend overhauls to policies or changes to what we tell customers (to avoid problems before they become Support problems). Feels like other teams listen to us, and recognize that we speak to more customers than other people here.

  • Definitely a good group. The job can be busy, we field a lot of calls from users, some of whom aren't so tech savvy, so the questions can be "basic", but the team does a great job of keeping things light and moving fast, helping each other out.

  • I know it sounds hokey, but the people here make a HUGE difference. There just isn't any real stress because people here genuinely want to get things fixed, complete projects or otherwise make progress.

  • Aggressive pace, but I don't think it's burning out anyone. It's pretty much a 9-5 operation, though there is flexibility around that. People who want to come in earlier, or stay later, do.

  • It's a pretty tight environment, plenty of people hang out on their own outside the office. Stuff like occasional "Fridays out" or Halloween parties in the office definitely happen. We just had a big Open House where Ann Arbor businesses and our local customers came into the office to enjoy music, food and drinks.

  • Pretty rigorous but friendly too. Met with my direct manager twice (phone then face to face) before coming in for peer interviews. It went fast (less than 2 weeks) and everybody I met asked both work and personal questions (what do you do for fun).
