Got to meet several people from different teams, although most are no longer with the firm.

The manager who hired me was honest and straightforward.

That there was a phone interview prior to the in-person interview. The phone interview allowed me to ask questions in "my environment" to see if i wanted to continue with the process. The phone interviewer provided me with an accurate description of the job and made me confident to proceed

It was less focused on hard skills and more concerned with how I think through problems. I thought this was great, you can always learn hard skills but problem-solving is the most important part of my role.

What would you improve about your company's interview process?

Too many rounds for a mid-level position with too many people where the hierarchy was not clearly explained. JPMC has a rigid role system and there should be an FAQ you get before you interview to prepare you to know who is what level.

They took a long time in completing the background check. They made the decision to hire me fast, but whoever they contracted to check my background did a slow job.

Make it more teue to what the company really is. Candidates are told the company is open caring and diverse. It is not.

Get your collective act together

yes, there is no need to meet with 6 people in an interview. it should really be limited to meeting 2 people. the manager and any one you will support directly.

need a better job description and hiring manager knowledge

The process was astringent & required a lot of background research that felt overbearing at times. 3 days before I was supposed to start I got pushed back because they had more background information I had to clear. It was like applying for a mortgage.

Not take forever for onboarding. Horrible communication from HR as well during process.
