It has been a decent job overall. Employee morale is poor due to the fact that most managers do absolutely nothing except push the employees to get credit cards so that they can get their bonuses. Employees get no incentive for getting credit card applications. Poor work environment.
What is most positive about the culture and environment at your company?
All of my coworkers get along.
What makes you most happy at work?
Working with my coworkers that are also team members. Getting paid. Interacting with customers.
Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?
A better pay based on comparable positions at other companies. Team members do all of the work at Academy Sports, while management does nothing to help the company make profits or help customers.
What did you like most about the interview process?
Meeting my coworkers and seeing a potentially good job. However they sell a great work experience to get you to accept the position, but in reality it isn't a good company to work for.
What do you like best about the leadership team?
My immediate manager is the only one that is a hands on helpful manager. The rest of the leadership does nothing productive but in turn costs the company hundreds of thousands of dollars in unnecessary payroll.
What are some of the best things about your team?
All of my coworkers get along and we have built great friendships. We work together as a team to get everything done, despite our management team doing nothing. All of my coworkers feel the same way about all of the managers at our store.
