Mr. Cain A. Hayes has been Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer & President of Health Business at BCBSM, Inc. since April 13, 2017. Mr. Hayes has been President of National Accounts at Aetna Inc. since August 2015 and served as its President of Mid-America Operations from May 2015 to August 2015 and served as its Head of Public & Labor Business since October 2010. Mr. Hayes served as the Chief Sales Officer and Senior Vice President of Nationwide Retirement Solutions, Inc., since February 2010. He served as the Head of Bundled Retirement Plan Services of Nationwide Financial Services, Inc. since December 2008. An accomplished executive with nearly 20 years of insurance industry experience, he possesses a deep understanding of the specific needs of public and labor organizations. He has a proven track record for delivering customer-focused sales strategies and retiree solutions to states, counties, municipalities and educational institutions. Mr. Hayes served as Vice President of Operations for Nationwide's large-plan retirement business at The Principal Financial Group. He served as the Vice President and National Sales Director of its small-plan retirement business. He earned his Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration and Marketing from Drake University and an MBA from Webster University. Mr. Hayes holds Chartered Financial Consultant designation from The American College and Certified Employee Benefit Specialist designations from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
