Executive Bio

Patricia Hassett serves as a Vice President and Chief of Staff Office of the Chairman of Aetna Inc. Ms. Hassett joined Aetna in 2000, after serving as Vice President, Chief Compliance Officer and Special Assistant to Dr. Rowe when she was President and Chief Executive Officer of Mount Sinai/NYU Health. Among a host of duties and assignments, Ms. Hassett co-chairs with Dr. Rowe Aetna's Task Force on Racial and Ethnic Disparities in Health Care. Prior to joining Dr. Rowe at Mount Sinai/NYU Health, she was Vice President for Finance and Administration at Brooklyn College, Interim Deputy Chancellor for the City University of New York, and was named Executive Vice President at Brooklyn College. Earlier, Ms. Hassett served as Vice President for Administration and Assistant Vice President for Enrollment Management at Fairleigh Dickinson University, Director of Admissions and Financial Aid at Baruch College, and Director of Admissions at the City College of New York. She has served as a consultant in a number of areas including marketing, conceptual design, government relations, facilities planning and design, information systems, and film/video production. She serves on the Advisory Board for the Gateway Institute for Pre-College Education and is a founder of The Graduate School of Political Management, now a part of George Washington University. Ms. Hassett holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Richmond College of the City University of New York and a Master of Arts degree from Teachers College, Columbia University.
