Executive Bio

Mr. Russell R. Dickhart serves as Vice President and Head of the Government and Labor Sector in National Businesses of Aetna Inc. Mr. Dickhart started his career at Aetna in Milwaukee in Account Management. The Government and Labor Sector includes the Federal Employees Health Benefits Plan (FEHBP), State and Local Public Sector business and Multi-Employer/Labor. He moved to Hartford, CT, with responsibility for new business underwriting and marketing for the Northeast and Central regions. As Aetna moved into managed care in the 1980s, Mr. Dickhart helped develop many of the initial health care network products ' PPOs, HMOs and DMOs. He then became manager of Aetna's Chicago office and was given sales, service, network and patient care responsibility for the Maryland/DC/Virginia area. He also was General Manager of the Southern New Jersey/Delaware market, and was most recently Mid-Atlantic Region Head of National Accounts. He graduated from Lafayette College in Easton, PA, with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics. He has served on a number of employee benefits and community boards. He and his wife have two sons and reside in the Hartford area.
