
Political and empire buildings like, mainly, but depend on the org. Those who work hard do not get promoted. Smart managers hire lots of people under them, promote them and then get promoted themselves. Reporting directly to VP is super rewarding which demoralize the normal product managers. All of this leads to hiring freeze which as you guess hurts the wrong teams.
Production teams very wildly depending on the facility and who the management has at the time as management changes very frequently!
Team is great. Management wants to dictate what the customer sees as success. That is where things go wrong.
