I think while they say job rotation is automated, I think they rotate those they think are better are than others or those they like better. I'm trained in 4-5 different areas, but I can go 3-4 weeks before I rotate to something else. It's difficult when your goal is to spend this first year getting to know well every area as much as I possibly can before applying for a leadership role like ambassador or P.A. I can't do a good job training and helping if I'm still learning. I can't learn if I don't get to rotate and move around.....

No job rotation in the warehouse department I'm in except for about a handful of people. Drives up productivity, keeps down training costs, apparently. Sprains, strains, and the occasional carpal tunnel syndrome seem pretty common from where I'm standing. I don't know what this complex job rotation algorithm is all about in the last shareholder letter. You have to actually be willing to invest money on training people on different tasks first. Nice PR move after the Alabama anti-union vote. I think Amazon being the Safest Place to Work is still a while away.

There has to be some type of rotation daily. This will help with people injury rates. Also working different parts of the body. Less injury. Take heed from the big 3, Bridgewater, Johnson Controls, Magna. Think more of your employees. Your turn over rate will drop dramatically. Your overall output will be consistent.

In theory there are job rotations but in reality unless job rotations are automated they become up to the whim of ambassadors, L3 shift assistants and L4 or above area Managers. As such, at most delivery stations they’re based on favortism, friendships, bribes and favors. They should be automated.

Yes. There are some that ask to switch to a different process path, for example, switching from Pick to Stow. They usually are able to do that for 4 weeks, and sometimes stay in the new path, sometimes go back to the original function.

In corporate: Yes, it is mainly self service but Amazonians are encouraged to rotate or increase scope every 18-24 months and there is no minimum time in role requirement though it can be detrimental to switch too fast too often.

No not unless you want to change departments or you're forced to be trained in a job that you do not want to do

You can transfer to other sub-groups. It’s a bit harder but can also transfer to different business units (e.g. kindle stuff to search team).

I'm not sure what job rotation means actually, but you can apply for work in different departments.
