Though this was 7 years ago there were 3 separate interviews. I guess they were thorough and that made me feel like they hired only qualified candidates

A broad panel of interviewers from many departments that interact with the role and responsibilities I was applying for. Got to get a taste of the expectations of my direct supervisor as well as my internal "customer."
Friendly, professional and somewhat challenging. Years ago this was a great place to work.

What would you improve about your company's interview process?
Hire a better HR representative
Adding more effort to exclude bad apples from the candidates.
Just by trying to make you fit there instead of trying to make you feel like you are not good enough
