What is the best part about your compensation package?

The best part about my compensation package is able to earn the bonuses but it would be better if it's a yearly because quarterly is not so much in my favor.

I believe the vacation layout is really good and helps the work/life balance. The Military leave policy that was just updated is really great too!

We have amazing insurance that we can use

The insurance through ArcBest is great. I have a young child that regularly visits the doctor, the health insurance has been extremely helpful. The cast light feature they offer is also helpful when it comes to any insurance issues.

Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?

Raises are not based on individual efforts, and are usually flat across the department. There is no advantage to owning stock as there is no ESO for the majority of salaried employees. Meaning that they have no interest in owning stock because they must invest in it at market value.

I feel as though compensation at ArcBest is a sore point in management. Management needs to seriously consider how important the worker is to the success of ArcBest and reevaluate how to better compensate their employees.

They claim we're "competitive", but we are well below average for compensation in the tech industry.

There are no real efforts to retain or pay market values for certain roles.

Equal pay issues most definitely still exist in this company.

Student workers are underpaid. With the AR minimum wage $11 and student workers starting out at $11.25, it does play a factor in our "importance". We do a lot of the same tasks as FT employees, which makes me (and the other SW's I've compared to) feel undervalued.

The company makes record profits every year, but wages are not reflective of that. The time off accrual plan is also abysmal as you have to work with the company 10 years to receive 4 weeks off. Industry standard is unlimited time off or 4 weeks to start.

The company made record profits over the past year and that money fails to trickle down to fair compensation for employees. I would like to see wages raised across the company. The time off accrual should also be updated to reflect industry standard.

I feel as if ArcBest doesn't pay their employee accurately based on other comparable positions outside of the organization. If I didn't like the other aspects of my job and compensation was the only remaining factor keeping me at ArcBest, I would not stay.

Tolerating poor performers and giving them pay increases and promotions will always make those who work harder feel undervalued. Having automated increases every 6 months based on performance could help this issue.

Compared to the market and my skillsets, I do feel that I could be making more money elsewhere, but it is the relationships I've built that keep me here.

Myself and my team are paid well under $20,000 less than other's with the same role in the same industry within a 100 mile radius.

For the value my job brings to the company as a whole and the requirements made on my position to achieve the workload placed in my responsibility I believe the pay grade is lacking considerably and should be adjusted accordingly.

Receiving a raise and/or a cost of living increase would be a nice start. I make considerably less than the "company average salary" and have seen other departments get multiple increases all while not receiving a raise or cost of living increase in years being told that i "make too much money".

I make too much money to receive a raise or cost of living increase. Yet I can't afford to make necessary/required improvements to my home. Many co-workers work second or part-time jobs to make ends meet. The average compensation shown is significantly higher than I make.
