Sustainability and Corporate Social Responsibility at BairesDev

Twice a year, BairesDev curates a list of non-profit organizations that drive change and help talent grow, wherever it may be. The company selects a list of non-profit organizations that drive change and help talent grow, wherever it may be. BairesDev invites its clients to select an organization or to introduce it to an organization they support. BairesDev donates on our client's behalf. The company made over 500 donations on behalf of its clients to 60 organizations helping talent thrive worldwide.

BairesDev supports the following organizations because they share our dedication to promoting the development of women, children, and underrepresented communities in tech: Girls in Tech, Child's Play, Code, Girls Who Code, Benetech, One Laptop per Child, Feeding America, Charity Water, Cancer Research Institute.

At BairesDev we believe talent can come from anywhere and we are committed to making a difference for those who are talented. With Giveback Program, we’re taking that commitment one step further, by creating opportunities for talented people to thrive.

How does Giveback Program work? It’s simple. Twice a year, we curate a list of non-profit organizations that drive change and help talent grow, wherever it may be. We invite our clients to select an organization from the list that aligns with their values or to introduce us to an organization they support, and we make a donation – what we call a Giveback Program – to that organization on our client’s behalf.

Through Giveback Program, BairesDev pairs with their clients to support select organizations across different communities whose mission is to create opportunities for talented people to thrive. Geeks Rule
Geeks Rule promotes the study of and engagement with science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) among underserved youth. Its vision is to eliminate the racial, gender, and the socioeconomic gap in STEM fields to meet the growing need for STEM professionals in the United States.

EveryoneOn
EveryoneOn helps unlock social and economic opportunities by connecting people in under-resourced communities with affordable internet service and computers and delivering digital skills training. The organization is inspired by a belief in the democratizing power of the internet and technology.


NPower
NPower creates pathways to economic prosperity by launching digital careers for military veterans and young adults from underserved communities. NPower envisions a future where the domestic technology workforce is diverse and clear pathways exist for all people to succeed in the digital economy.


Womxn in Power
Womxn in Power provides female founders with resources from top mentors and advisors to compete in male-dominated industries and technology start-up spaces. The Female Founder Scholarship Fund plans to reach female founders in over 30 cities worldwide, prioritizing minority and immigrant female founders.

Ignite Worldwide
Ignite Worldwide promotes STEM education and career advancement for girls and nonbinary youth from historically marginalized communities. Through hands-on events that connect students with role models who live and work in their communities, students recognize new possibilities for their futures.

What Is Green Tech?
Green tech has two main meanings. One indicates the process by which the technology is built, through environmentally friendly production as an alternative to the environmentally invasive means of manufacturing of the past. Thus, the green manufacturing process uses clean energy to create products.

Another definition refers to the type of technology developers create. Green products are more energy-efficient and leave a lesser carbon footprint than their more traditional counterparts — think hybrid cars, which produce far fewer energy emissions than older models.

Software itself is not energy inefficient. However, the development of products can leave a huge carbon footprint, depending on the process by which it’s created and how the end product is used.

That’s why it’s important to know that there are ways to make these processes more sustainable. Artificial intelligence, blockchain, and the Internet of Things (IoT) are three innovations that can provide energy-efficient solutions.

For example, AI can assist with wind and solar power solutions by forecasting the weather to help increase energy output on cloudier or less windy days, as well as track energy consumption per appliance. Meanwhile, blockchain powers microgrids, which are freestanding, energy-efficient energy sources that enable the distribution of reliable electricity.
