I dread going to work every morning. This is the feeling of of my colleagues. This is not a way to live.
What's going wrong and how can it be improved?
Leadership needs to realize that it takes people to make a company great, not only vision and strategy. Make your employees feel valued. I receive this same feedback from a lot departments across the company. We make enough revenue, so truly invest in your employees. Do this before its too late.
What needs to change to make the company culture better?
Everything. BNY Mellon has the worst company culture I have ever worked in, and I have worked in many industries for over 25 yrs. I have never seen a company care so little about its employees and retention is abysmal. Also communication within depts is non-existent. Everyone is on a different page.
What does the leadership team need to get better at?
The leadership team needs to be aware of how outdated BNY Mellon's culture and due to this, how we as a company are hemorrhaging talent. Currently, BNY Mellon has a ridiculously bad workplace reputation, and I wouldn't be surprised if it seizes up and becomes a much smaller bank in the near future.
What do your coworkers need to improve and how could you work together better?
There is a lot of problems with people not doing their jobs. Ie: there is a person who is on social media on her phone for more than half of the day, every day. There are others who are on personal phone calls all of the time. Goals are not met and constant mistakes are found in data reports.
