Books A Million Compensation Employee Reviews

What is the best part about your compensation package?

Everything is good. They work fine.

I like the 30% off all store items benefit

For a Part-time position, the package is good

Review from Customer Support Dept

The benefits that I get.

Review from Sales Dept

I like the pay-for-performance component, where I can make more based on doing my job well and effectively. It's motivating and we have fun with our goals.

Bonus is based on my merit.

Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?

Low pay vs industry, poor benefits, limited PTO and no sick time

I am paid $12 an hour to shelve, clean, help customers, and work the register. Hapf the time the people helping me aren't patient with me.

if we were treated with respect like any human deserves, that alone would increase the quality if work we do.

Review from Sales Dept

The leadership skills, level of education and competencies i bring to the table are far more valuable than what i am paid.

Better pay and sense of value

Being paid a base livable wage.

better annual raises . the ability of a full time worker to work 38-40 hours a week instead of 30-32 hours a week

Pay is low and im shocked if anyone can live by themselves on the pay they give. Pay your employees better to have a better place to work!

Appropriate pay for the amount of work. Compatible with similar areas of retail

I been full-time for 1 year now. But, I’m the last to know about task to be done. Communication is the worse and has become a hostile environment to work. I’ve been accused for several accusations which are fa

Review from Sales Dept

Always. I am constantly criticized for doing what the company wants instead of what my manager wants. I have too much stress for a job that only pays me $11 an hour.

I worked my butt off for this company and it was a terrible experience. Where i was doing a manager job but not being paid for it as well as being forced to sell my customers a discount card that I knew would not benefit them or I wouldn't have a job.

Review from Sales Dept

The pay rate is not equal to the amount and quality of work expected

Review from Sales Dept

The company does not care about its workers. Everyone is replaceable and my store has big turnover and those who put in time are run into the ground

Review from Sales Dept

We do ALOT to keep the store Running on top of meeting their ridiculous membership goals, more than minimum wage and more recognition would be great

The tean is good, but corporate keeps the store understaffed and is always pushing us to sell the Discount Cards and Magazine offers. The pay is barely above minimum, yet there is as much presure to sell as for salesman at a used car lot.

Review from Customer Support Dept

Better raises and based not just on discount card and magazine sales

Review from Sales Dept

I would like to make enough money to afford to rent a home. I would like to make enough money to afford bills and rent and still have luxuries. I would like to see my coworkers and managers not struggling for money. I would like a pay raise instead of my bosses' bosses getting more money.

Review from Customer Support Dept

Minimum wage doesn’t cut it.

Review from Sales Dept

The compensation was very little pay for the amount of merchandise being sold
