Books A Million Leadership Employee Reviews

What do you like best about the leadership team?

They are kind yet firm. They let me grow with me feeling like a failure.

They are good to the employees

Review from Sales Dept

Excellent store manager who does everything she can to help us and fight for what we need

The Leadership Team was young and optimistic. Unfortunately, for me, no one told me when I was hired that as a customer service worker, I would have to clean the restrooms. I am a 65-year-old-retired-teacher. With COVID-19 raging, I couldn't clean the restrooms so I was let go after two weeks.

Review from Customer Support Dept

They expect too much from a small amount of staff

At my immediate store, they did pride their selves in their work very much

They really care about me.

Review from Customer Support Dept

Very nice and understanding when things go wrong

Review from Customer Support Dept

The team gives me the freedom to do my job and any support needed to ask questions or assist with roadblocks I am encountering. They listen and want to improve.

The share their vision and strategy for the future.

What does the leadership team need to get better at?

The leadership team need to advocate for booksellers a lot more. The pressure of membership sales being directly linked to how many hours an employee receives, causes people to leave the company. The leadership team is extremly cliquey, making associates uncomfortable and targeted.

Being reasonable about their goals

the team needs to be completely removed and replaced.

Review from Sales Dept

Communication and.suppoetive decision making to achieve operational and sales goals

Holding managers accountable for inconsistencies and complaints

take more care of employees at the bottom instead of employees at the top

Being actual leaders. Theyll give you something work on but then its up to you to figure it out.

The leadership team needs to do a better job training new hires properly and not overworking some employees while underworking others. They also need to see that everyone is pulling their weight on the job instead of having a select few workers pick up everyone else's slack.

Communication is key, store 954 struggles with communication skills. Anytime I suggest we need better communication, I get a viral beating/ talking to about not being part of the team.

Review from Sales Dept

This company was terrible to work for. It focused so hard on pushing discount cards off on people that they had to buy mind you and demanding its employees meet a certain goal that was unreasonable.

Review from Sales Dept

Leadership needs to be better at communication, and keeping personal issues separate from work issues.

Review from Sales Dept

Care more about their employees and better pay

Review from Sales Dept

taking care of its workers more than its ceos and upper management

Review from Sales Dept

Everything. They pay pennies on their millions and expect to take over their employees' entire lives. One of the harshest environments for so little pay I have even heard of in my city. Walmart is worlds better as an employer, and that is saying a lot.

Review from Customer Support Dept

Better manager. The manager acts like a child.

Review from Sales Dept

Leadership could improve by not expecting passionate book readers to sell ridiculous magazines

Caring about the well-being of their employees.

Review from Sales Dept

There is no communication and if there is any, it's all negative. Threats are made against us and I don't feel that is a safe environment.
